Yom Kuppur - John the Baptist - Repentance Day
. . . in the light of the Divine Love

A time of rededication and thankfulness to God

September 30. 2000
First Observance
Last Saturday in September
I am here Jesus,
The question of holidays to be observed the Church of the New Birth is not one of instituting new festival days, but of clarifying the significance of those we do possess and reinterpreting in the light of the Divine Love those we wish to retain for celebration. There is also a question of dates, upon which I propose to express my thoughts and desires.

Four major Hebrew holidays take place in the month of Tishri, (September-October) the beginning of the civil New Year; Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simhot Torah, and that is the reason I have decided to begin my sermons on the holidays with your Autumn Season. The Rosh Hashanah was observed from antiquity, as seen by Exodus, Chapter 23, verses 16-33, with gladness of heart and a feast, in that a New Year had been bestowed upon man, by the grace of God, the creator of the Universe. The comings and goings of the months and the seasons could never be viewed by the Jews as a mere physical event; the hand of God was behind, and represented, the moving force in the succession of days.

After the Yom Kippur, which I shall treat in detail at the end, came Sukkot, or Tabernacles, or even the Feast of Booths, as it was also called, making its advent in your late September or early October, and representing the in-gathering of the harvest, especially the oil and wine, so that the Jews rejoiced in the assurance of God's bounty and the shelter He provided against the days of the more inclement season to come.

The Repentance of Yom Kippur and John, for the Hebrew, the annual fast day and day of expiation for the sins of the Hebrew Nation, took place on Yom Kippur, when priests offered sacrifices as an atonement for himself, the priesthood and all the people. On the 10 th day of the seventh sacred month, or first civil month, and 5 days before the Feast of Tabernacles, Israel celebrated its reconciliation with God. (Leviticus, Chapter 16. verses 23-26 and 32, and Numbers, Chapter 29. verses 7-11). All work was forbidden and the entire nation was required to observe a strict fast.

On this day the high priest laid aside his official robes and put on the simple white garment of a priest. He sacrificed a bullock as sin-offering for himself and the priesthood, and a he-goat as the sin-offering for the people, in each case sprinkling some blood from the Kapporah, or propitiatory, it and on the ground before the Altar. Then the, high priest took the he-goat for Azazel, laid both hands on its head, and pronounced upon it all the transgressions of Israel. Thus laden with the sins of the nation, it was driven into the desert. The people also gave a ram as a burnt offering. (Leviticus, Chapter 16, verses 8-10-16). On this day is recited the Yiskor (Hebrew, "he shall remember"), the memorial prayer for the dead in the synagogues.

Although this day is not mentioned by name in the New Testament and is implied once in Acts, Chapter 27, verse 23, simply as "the fast" yet the writer of Hebrews, supposed to be Paul, saw in its ritual analogies to the Christ's redemption, as the doctrine developed later towards the end of the first century.

According to this writer, this holiday was considered a type of atonement accomplished by the Messiah for the sins of the whole World. (Hebrews, Chapter 9, verses 7-10). The high priest of the Old Testament who entered into the Holy of Holies with the blood of sin offerings, is a vague type of the Christ, who by the supposed virtue of his own shed blood entered the Holy of Holies of Heaven to present to His Father his blood as the price of redemption of mankind. (Hebrews, Chapter 9, verse 12). The high priest had to atone year after year for his own sins as well as for those of the entire nation, but the Christ, as the so-called high priest of the New Testament, has effected atonement, not for himself, but for mankind, forever (Hebrews, Chapter 9, verse 11). Furthermore, declared the writer, the flesh of the sin offering was burned outside the city and thus the Messiah also suffered outside the gate of Jerusalem.

I can only say that it is repugnant to find statements that the blood of a human being, regardless of his piety or soul condition could be viewed as being presented in the purely spiritual sphere of God's Heavenly Abode, and to God Himself, as the price which God demanded to redeem the souls of men on earth and in the Spirit World from their transgressions, instead of having these souls turn to God and seek the Father's Love as the help in , transforming these souls from evil and hatred to new souls filled with kindness and love. You may rest assured that Hebrews was not written by Paul, who had entered the Spirit World many years before this epistle had been written, but by a Greek supporter of the Hellenistic turn Christianity had taken after Titus' distruction of Jerusalem.

My interest in the Yom Kippur is not, therefore, in the sacrifice of animals as a means of expiating individual or national sins, and certainly less in the church interpretation, which is abhorrent to me, making of me a perpetual victim in a bloody ritual, one which I wish now to most emphatically repudiate as I have in the past in my messages through Mr. Padgett; nor am I interested in any rite or ceremony which purports to effect conciliation between God and man, but let me repeat that my interest in the Yom Kippur lies in my concern for the state of man's mind and heart which turns him from sins and transgressions to seek God and righteousness through repentance and the exercise of the natural love, as found among Jews and present day Christians, as well as all people; or better yet, through the outpouring of the Father's Love upon those who may seek it in earnest prayer.

The Jews in their Temple and Synagogues on this day beat their breasts in their liturgy, confessing to evils which they had done or may have done during the year and pleaded with God to grant them forgiveness from their sins as, contrite with the knowledge of their transgressions. they endeavored not to repeat these evils because they knew they were evils and an accusation before the throne of their righteous God. The more pious ones studied the Torah and the prophets, and developed sects emphasizing repentance and purity from sin. And when John the Baptist appeared on the scene in Palestine, his mission consisted in a call to repentance, a turning from sin in heart and mind, to make the soul the more disposed to seek the new covenant of the Father's Love, which would be made available to mankind with my coming. The Christians of the early church were very much aware of John the Baptist's importance as the "Herald of the New Birth", turning mankind to a repentance for true redemption and they observed three holidays in his honor; his nativity, June 24th, the beheading, August 29th, and Conception of the Precursor, September 24th. In view of his mission, announcing that the Kingdom, or the New Birth, was at hand, and also his steadfastness in carrying out the Father's Will, I cannot conceive of a holiday for our Church of the New Birth without including one which gives due recognition to John the Baptist as part of God's plan in the realization of the Divine Love for mankind. And since the last of his holidays is also in Tishri, and close to the Hebrew Day of Atonement, I should like to proclaim a holiday in this month which combines both the Yom Kippur and John's precursorship; namely the last Saturday in September.

This festival need not be a fast, for I am not returning to the Hebrew dispensation, but should be a time dedicated to thankfulness that God, ever loving and merciful to His creatures, provided a day of atonement to re-orientate the soul away from the transient things of the flesh and that happiness in the Spirit World, the permanent abode of the soul, lies in a purified soul for a home in Paradise as the Hebrews knew it, and a Divine Soul, filled with God's Love, in a home in the Celestial Heavens, of which I am the Master.

Now in reviewing the cycle of holidays in Tishri, and comparing the Hebrew and Christian attitudes, I find that, while the New Year's Day of your calendar is civil and based on the Roman two-headed Janus, (looking back and forward) there is no feeling of a religious nature attached to it, no feeling that, through cosmic development and change, God is the prime mover of the event. This represents a stirring in the heart of the Hebrew, especially in his own land, Israel, and a longing on the part of those of the Diaspora, but this does not extend to Gentile lands or people, who may feel the love of their land in a quite different way, and I would not, therefore l wish to impose upon them what would be in effect an alien attitude, and I am therefore eliminating the Rosh Hashanah from the list of holidays to he observed by the Church of the New Birth, and this shall also include the Tabernacles, on virtually the same considerations, as well as the festival of Purim in February, as nationalistic only and pertaining to the limited area of the Hebrew historical scene.

As for the Simhat Torah, or Rejoicing in the Law (23 rd of Tishri, September-October), I also feel that observances of this purely Hebrew Festival can hardly be considered appropriate to peoples whose religious feelings stem from sources entirely distinct from the Hebrew, and who simply take for granted the Books of the Bible dealing with the laws governing human conduct-they consider this an accomplished legacy, and cannot be moved by a fact of which they were not a part; on the other hand, the Jews witnessed the formational development and perfection of these books from the Ten Commandments, experienced in actual life from trial and error, to spiritual growth and insight, the slow and painful progress of the Pentateuch. steeped in the life-blood, culture and civilization of the people down to Deuteronomy, the Reform of Josiah and Jeremiah's love for this humanitarian work. Observance of this holiday event must be emotional, a rejoicing-and I fail to see how an intellectual, and indeed, respectful, approach to this holiday can do justice either to our Gentile members, and they will far outnumber the Jews, or to the holiday itself. I would suggest that one evening a week, when convenient, be set aside to study the Hebraic laws, not for any doctrinal reason, but to understand the humanistic spirit of the Hebrews, for whom reverence for life as a God-given gift, and social and individual justice, were the essence of our religious insight.
Jesus of the Bible
and
Master of the Celestial Heavens

Is Now the Harbinger of the Master As He was on Earth.

I AM HERE. John the Baptist. I came to tell you that I am now a harbinger of the Master as I was when on earth and that he is the true Jesus who writes to you in all the communications which you received signed by him or by his name.
I do this that you may believe and not doubt the messages that you receive. He has written you and you must rely on what he says, for what he has said to you will surely come to pass.

I am the same John who appeared in Palestine and announced his coming, and as I told them what was actually to take place, so I tell you what is actually taking place, and you will not only receive the messages of truth which he will write you, but they will also be distributed to all mankind wherever the written languages of the world exist and are spoken or written.
So you have before you a wonderful and important mission and one that will do more to make true brothers and lovers of the Father than anything that has happened since the Master was on earth and taught and preached the truths of his Father, and did good to physical man.

I sometimes have wondered why you should have been selected, as I see that your soul development has not been nearly as great as that of many other men who now live and have lived; but as he has made the selection, we must understand that he knows what is best, and that his selection must be the right one. As a consequence of this, all we who are his followers in the Celestial World are trying our best to forward the cause and help you; and I must tell you that you have behind you in this great work, supporting and maintaining you, more spiritual power than any mortal has ever had before; this may sound to you surprising, but it is true.
So, my brother, for such I must call you now, try to acquire a faith in the love and desire of the Father to save all mankind from the errors of their lives and to make them one with Him that will en

able you to stand forth as the representative of the Master and the authoritative teacher of these great truths.
I am now in the Celestial Heavens and am very close to Jesus in his home and in his love for the Father and for all humanity. I have powers which are great and love which is of the divine essence of the Father and what I tell you now I will tell to the world when the opportunity presents itself.
Your Brother in Christ,
JOHN THE BAPTIST

The voice of one crying in the wilderness, now the voice of many spirits of God

I Am Here, John the Baptist.
I come because I want to encourage you to pray more and to believe. The Father's Love is waiting for you to fill your soul to its utmost, and the only things required on your part are prayer and faith. We are all interested in you and want you to get into a condition that will enable you to take the Master's messages as rapidly as possible for the time is now ripe when they should be given to mankind, and started on their work of redeeming men from false beliefs and erroneous doctrines and dogmas. I, John, tell you this, for I call see that men are longing for the truths of God - such truths as will remove from the teachings of the spiritually guided all superstition and errors. Such truths as will accord with the reasoning of men who are not biased by erroneous beliefs either in matters spiritual or material.

I tell you that these truths will be easier for the mere materialist to receive and understand, than by those who are bound by the beliefs which the creeds and dogmas of the churches have inculcated. And the acceptance of this New Revelation of the truths of God will be by those who have no preconceived ideas of what the nature and relation of man to God, in the spiritual sense, is, rather than by the learned theologian and the simple worshipper at the altars of the churches, who believe whatever may be told them by the priests and preachers.

As I was, at one time, the voice of one crying in the wilderness, I am now the voice of many spirits of God, who know that the Master will teach the truths of his Father, and that these truths must be accepted by mortals on earth, and by spirits in the spirit world in order that they may receive that salvation which the Father has prepared for them, and which, when accepted and realized and possessed, will fit them to become partakers of the happiness and immortality which the Father has promised them.
I have written you in this manner tonight, because I want you to realize more fully and deeply the important work which the Master has selected you to do, and also the necessity of continuing this work at the earliest possible moment.
Well, I have been interested in the great amount of discussion on that point, and how the belief one way or the other has caused those calling themselves Christians to form distinct sects. If they only knew or would know, that it does not make a particle of difference to their soul's salvation, whether Jesus was i

mmersed or sprinkled, they would not let the bitter feeling arise that frequently does in discussing this matter.
But to settle this dispute to the satisfaction of those who may read the book which you may publish and believe in its statements, I will say, that when I baptized Jesus, I went with him into the water and then took the water in my hands and placed it on his head - there was no immersion. As this water was merely symbolical of the washing away of sin and error, and does not actually accomplish that great necessity, in order for men to become one with God, it did not make any difference whether the recipient of baptism was immersed or sprinkled. It is strange that many men who profess to have received the forgiveness of their sins and become reconciled to God should let a trifling thing of this kind cause so much strife and bitter disputations.
I will now stop.

John the Baptist on Jesus Childhood
REVELATION 15

I AM HERE, John the Baptist.
Since our whole religious import to the universe of men is built upon what Jesus, as the human transfiguration through this Divine Love manifested, he and his life and the different steps in his soul's progress as shown forth to those with whom he associated are most vital and important. For it is the gentility and calmness of a loving nature which Jesus.showed at all times and to all peoples which, even as a small child, made him different from other human beings. For all must understand that the Divine Love of the Heavenly Father was performing its perfect work of transformation within the soul of Jesus even as a very small child. And as his soul, as the human or created image entity, became more and more transformed into the Divine, because of Divine Love's suffusing of his soul and transforming of the natural qualities and energies from natural to Divine, he became an entity set apart.

We who associated and lived and played with him did not, of course, know why he did not ever indulge in naughtiness or other disposition transcendence of which we were all capable. He enjoyed the natural companionship and games in play of others of his own age. And to the young ones of your day, it must be made clear that Jesus, himself, did not know that he was in any way to be different from all other peoples of his time. He knew that within him was a tranquility and buoyancy which prevailed at all times and was a growing part of his nature. He knew that he felt kindliness and affection for all humanity and every living thing, and he realized that he did not react as others did - but this realization came to him only as he matured and progressed in the Love.

He had many hours of pondering upon the difference between his own reactions and those of his companions. But all of this was a gradual and slow awakening of consciousness to obedience and compliance with that self which was to be dominant and show forth all of the beauty and humility of a soul possessed and transformed by the Father's special Gift of Divine Love - into the Angel on earth to whom you and all humanity shall someday look and realize as the only miracle in all of the universe. And one not just peculiar unto Jesus as Christ, but that which his faithfulness unto his chosen mission has made available for all mankind to embrace and make their own.
Your brother in Christ,
John, the Baptist.

John the Baptist Writes About his Life and Ministry
Revelation 16

I am here, John the Baptist:
I am happy that you are permitting me to write to you now. I realize that you are tired after having received the message from Jesus, but I would like to supply some information about my life.

I was born in the month of June (your calendar) some six months before that of my cousin Jesus in the neighborhood of Ain Karim, which is a small town not far from Jerusalem, and as you know I was the son of a priest who served in the Temple in Jerusalem and my family were all pious and devoted and filled with a strict interpretation regarding the laws which the Jews believed had been received from God through Moses, and to my father these laws of Moses and the Ten Commandments represented the most important part of the Jewish religion, and he taught me a strict moral code which I absorbed in my youth and which later became the cardinal principles of my brief ministry as the harbinger of the glad tidings of Jesus.
During my manhood I was an ascetic and shunned all meat and strong drink and ate only the simplest of foods in order not to be subject to the passions of man, and later I became a hermit and lived in a cave and away from the haunts of men and their society.
When Jesus and his family returned from Egypt to Nazareth to be among his people in Galilee, I had many occasions to see and talk to him there, and this continued over a period of many years up to the time of my ministry, which we began a few months apart from each other. This ministry was worked out between us and formed part of a plan prearranged in advance, and the gospel is not true in declaring that I did not know Jesus but that I would anoint the one on whom I would see the dove of the Holy Spirit descend. I did know Jesus and I did anoint him, not because I saw any dove or heard a voice from Heaven, but because I was convinced in my heart that he was the Messiah and that I was the prophet who was to announce his coming. However, I wish to state that I did not truly understand that Jesus was bringing with him immortality which comes from possession of the Divine Love, nor did I even possess this Divine Love in my soul at the time of my execution.
As a youth and young man, in order to make a livelihood, I used to work in the fields of wheat and might be said to have been a farmer, but my true vocation was that of a prophet in the sense that Elijah was, that is to say, to proclaim to the rulers and the people to repent of their evil ways and to return to the path of righteousness that God had directed the Jews to follow as the great goal of the religion calling for love to God and one’s fellow man.

It is not true, as some theologians believe, that I tried to lead a reform movement independent of Jesus, nor was I to any extent influenced by the Essenes, whose views of purity led them to isolated communities away from the so-called contaminations of the genuine Hebrew civilization, or the Hellenistic influences, and where they carried out their religious practices; for, like Jesus, I believed not in retreat from the world but in carrying the message of God to the people, and as I believed in ablutionals as symbolical spiritual purity, I had of necessity to preach where water was readily obtainable and that was the Jordan.
And it was in this sense that I was a real prophet, for I not only preached repentance to all who would listen, but I also thundered against what I considered the evil conduct of Herod for transgressions against the God’s law of matrimony, for I looked upon his marriage to Herodias as illegal, an act which could bring down upon his subjects the wrath of God. Contrary to what the Bible says; Herodias was not living with Herod while his half brother, was alive, for he was dead at the time the royal pair were married, but to us, the Pharisees, to which I belonged, the marriage was not legal because no woman, as we understood it, could contract marriage with the brother of a deceased husband when children had been born of the first marriage. Hence Salome, the offspring of Herodias and Herod’s step brother, invalidated this marriage to Herod, and it was this violation of our levirate marriage law that prompted my preaching against him.

It is true, of course, that Herodias was incensed against me for, as a member of the ruling class, she was a Sadducee at heart and did not believe in the correctness of my views. She therefore was elated to see me imprisoned and silenced. Herod did not concern himself too much about this part of my preachings, for while he disagreed with me about the interpretation of the marriage law, wrangling between Pharisees and Sadducees had been going on for some two centuries, and such legalistic disputes did not have the urgency for him as this particular one had for Herodias, but he was concerned rather with the attitude which the Roman overlords took towards religious meetings which could be a pretext for seditious and rebellious gatherings, and he thought it wise to remove with my arrest the cause of such possible sources of disorder in his territory.
Herod sent some soldiers in the garb of travelers to seek me out without arousing suspicion, and though I was not preaching in territory subject to his jurisdiction, sequestered me into his land and brought me to his fortress of Macherus near the Dead Sea. I was confined there for about ten months, or until Herod’s birthday, on your calendar, late February of the year 29. I know that Herod was not too anxious for my death, but Herodias wanted it and her request was granted. Solome or Solomith, did dance at this festival, but it is not true that her dancing made Herod grant her request for my death; on the contrary, she has assured me that she never did ask for my decapitation, and I can state that my head was never brought in before the King on a platter. These, of course are fanciful details which students of the Old Testament will associate with the story of the festival of Purina, wherein the King Ahasuerus vowed to grant Ester anything she asked for at his banquet.

At the time of my death, I did not, as I have said, possess the Divine Love, but I did have an abundance of the natural love in a pure state and was in good spiritual condition, and when it was possible for spirits to obtain the love at the time of the Transfiguration when Moses and Elijah obtained it, I was one of those who then understood the real meaning of Jesus' Ministry and I prayed for the Divine Love and obtained it. This Transfiguration took place less than six months after my death, but I was in that spiritual state that enabled me to realize its importance and to seek for the Great Gift.

As a spirit, I watched the progress of Jesus’ efforts to win the Jewish people and I often came to him to offer him comfort, and I also attempted to warn him at the time of his arrest when shortly before the approach of Judas and the henchmen of the high priest he went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, and he seemed to have a realization of his coming death. This has been exaggerated by the copyists of the gospels, who have sought to show that Jesus.was fated to die on the cross and that it was his mission to shed his blood through betrayal and crucifixion, and all the statements attributed to Jesus that his time was “not yet come or that his time was come’ are not true, yet the fact of the matter is that Jesus did have a foreboding of his coming disaster, and I did try to get his attention and warn him of the betrayal.
John the Baptist, of the New Testament

John the Baptist - Jesus was the true Messiah and the true Christ as he taught when on earth.

I am here, John the Baptist.
I have not written you for some time, and tonight I come merely to let you know that I have not forgotten you, and am with you quite often, trying to help you with my love and influence.
No, I was not present then.

Well, I am glad that you had such an experience, and I will tell you that you shall have many more experiences of that kind for the Celestial Spirits are your friends and companions, and where they are, only love can come.
Well, that does seem contradictory, but the fact is, that I never sent my disciples to ask any such question. I knew at the time of the baptism of Jesus that he was the promised Messiah, and that knowledge never left me or degenerated into a doubt. This passage of the Bible has no foundation in fact, for I never thought it necessary to ask any such question, and, as I have said, I never asked it.

To me, Jesus was the real Christ, and I knew that he was the true and only one, and that no other would come after him, for when he brought to light the fact that God had bestowed upon mankind the great possibility of obtaining the Divine Love and the Divine nature, there never thereafter arose the necessity for the existence or coming of another Christ. The Great Gift that was necessary to make man a being Divine had been bestowed, and beyond that there was nothing that the Father had to bestow upon mankind.

I am so sorry that such an untruth should have been written and incorporated in the Bible. It did Jesus an injustice and made me appear as a contradictory prophet and messenger of his coming. When I said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, make straight the way of the Lord, I meant that I knew that Jesus was the true Christ, and that forever thereafter would that knowledge be mine. No, I did not send my disciples to ask the question that you referred to.
As I knew then, I know now, that Jesus was and is the true Son of God, and the savior of mankind, in the sense that he brought life and immortality to light. I will soon come and write you on some of these Bible declarations.
I will now stop, and in doing so say, that you have my love and blessings and the Love of the Father, which is the Great Love that makes you a part of the Divine Essence of the Father.
So my dear brother, goodnight,
Your brother in Christ,
John the Baptist.

John the Baptist: His Living and Teaching Men the Way to Obtain the Divine Love of the Father Are What Saves a Soul

I AM HERE, John the Baptist:
I desire to write to you tonight about a certain truth which you must know, in order to be able to teach others the importance of studying the plan of God for the salvation of man -- I mean, that in order for men to be saved from their sins they must believe in the way that the Master shall teach you in his messages. I do not intend to dwell at large upon the New Birth, for that has already been told you of a number of times. But I want now to deal with the truth that this is the one thing that perfects mankind, and spirits as well, and enables them to obtain the soul qualities which are absolutely necessary before a man can become at-one with the Father.

The other things which the churches teach as necessary sacraments, such as baptism, the laying on of hands, and the Lord's Supper, or communion, are things which are not necessary. They were never intended as being anything more than merely symbolical, and even as symbols, the last-mentioned does no good, but rather, harm, for besides being used to remind the followers of Jesus of his communion with them before his sacrifice, they look upon it as something which saves a soul from sin and fits it for Heaven. I want you to understand that all these things are not important to a soul's becoming at-one with God, and that mortals must learn the truth of what I say.

Many preachers, as well as laymen, believe that only the blood of Jesus can save from sin, and that his death was necessary for man's salvation; but I want to tell you that if he had died a natural death, beloved by all who knew him, and honored by the whole Jewish nation, his blood would have been just as efficacious, and his death just as important, as they were, because he was killed as a result of hatred and envy on the part of the Jewish authorities. In neither case would the blood or the death in one particular have anything to do with the salvation of men.
His living and teaching, and the making known to man the Great Gift of the Father, and the way to find the Gift and possess it, were the things that brought to man salvation. Jesus lived and taught and loved us; he did not die and suffer and make an atonement for us.

The living Christ is of more importance to our happiness and salvation than the dead Jesus, and so Jesus, himself, teaches. And he is not pleased with those who teach the dying Jesus instead of the living Christ. I, John, was and not only a precursor of the Master, but a follower, also, and it was not his blood or death that saved me, but his living and teaching me the way to obtain the Divine Love of the Father.

I am much interested in the salvation of all men, and want to do everything in my power to help men to learn the way to truth and light, and Love. I am trying, as well as are many others of our band who are with you now, in carrying forward this work of showing men the truths which will lead them to the Father's Love.

I have only to say further that you must pray more to the Father and keep up your courage and belief in the Master, and all these things will be properly worked out to a final and happy conclusion.
I will not write more tonight. So with my love and blessings, I will say good night.
Your brother in Christ,
JOHN THE BAPTIST.

The Relationship Between Jesus and His Cousin John
Revelation 17

I am here, Jesus:
I am here again to write on the truths and errors contained in the New Testament, but before I do so I would like to clear up the question posed by the Doctor concerning the relationship between me and my cousin, John the Baptist. Before entering upon my mission, I had discussed the broad outlines as well as the details of our respective missions with John, and in accordance with the Old Testament sayings and indications, it was thought advisable for John to be a forerunner and prepare the way for my coming. That meant that John would preach in various places and country districts ahead of me, so that when I arrived the way would be prepared for me; that is to say, curiosity and speculation as to my message would be awakened by John. John preached mainly near the banks of the Jordan and never strayed far from it, and it was near the Jordan that he was apprehended by the soldiers of Herod and brought before him.

John and I never preached together in the same place, for that would have defeated the very purpose of his own mission to straighten the paths for my subsequent coming. Not only this, but the tenor and substance of our preachings were very different. John preached repentance, and he meant repentance in the traditional sense of the word—a turning away from sin and error and renewed obedience to the law of Moses, with love to God and one’s neighbor, which leads to the condition of the perfect natural man. I also preached repentance, for I said; “Repent ye, for the Kingdom of God, is at hand, believe in the glad tidings.” Now the meaning which I gave to the word repentance was not that which was applied by John, for I meant by repentance a turning anew to God and a seeking of the Celestial Heavens through prayer, for I taught that the great gift of immortality had been rebestowed upon mankind by the Heavenly Father in my person and that the soul’s yearning for His Love and its seeking for this Love through earnest prayer was real repentance. And when I said, “I come not to call the righteous but the sinner to repentance,” I mean that sinners could by turning to God receive the gift of the Divine Love as well as the righteous, for it was available to both, but alas, it was not the righteous but the sinners of my day who repented and sought God and His Love, while the righteous, or those who considered themselves righteous, refused in their self-satisfaction the great gift that was theirs for the asking.

There are more things that I would like to write you about and that is regarding the words; “It is easier for a rope to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I did not use the word “camel” for it has no association with the word “needle,” and it never occurred to me to use it, as it is found in many versions 0f the New Testament. Neither did I say a rich man would find it difficult to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, for if I had, then it would be understood that the poor man could do so more readily than the rich man, and this was not my meaning, for entry into the kingdom is an individual matter and depends upon the soul’s desire or dormant state, although a superficial consideration would suggest that the rich man, being addicted to his earthly treasures, would be less interested in the things of the soul. As a matter of fact, I said; “It is easier for a rope to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a mortal man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven,” and it was because of this seeming impossibility for a man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven that evoked from Peter the question; “Who then can be saved?”

This questioning was normal with the disciples, for it was usual for students of religion in the eastern countries to ask questions of the teachers and rabbis, and as a matter of fact I taught them that through earnest prayer to the Father for His Love the human soul is transformed from the image of God to His very Essence, and when the soul is thus filled to the extent that it may reach the Celestial Heavens all sin and desire to sin are eradicated and in that way is man saved. This sermon of mine was eliminated by later copyists and revisionists of the New Testament because they could not understand it and in its stead they wrote; “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

This statement in itself is certainly true, but as a substitute for the lesson on the Divine Love which I at that time was teaching my disciples, it takes away from those who read the New Testament the very message that I had been sent by the Father to proclaim.
You thus see how important it is this sad state of affairs which is so harmful and deleterious to man’s knowing the way to the Father, can be remedied by the truths and for you to receive my messages in good condition as they pertain to the New Testament.

John the Baptist - Speaks Encouraging Words To Mr. Padgett To Help Increase His Faith.

I AM HERE, John the Baptist:
Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God and in the Master. This is as true tonight as it was when spoken by Jesus to his disciples many centuries ago. You are his disciple now just as certainly as were they and while you cannot see him or hear his voice as they did yet the words are just as emphatically spoken tonight as they were to the other disciples. You do not realize what love and what powerful influences are with you tonight else you would let your worries flee to the winds and never return. I merely want to tell you this to let you see that there is another of the Celestial Spirits who knows that the Master's promises will be kept.

I am not here because I want to encourage you merely, but because I want to tell you a fact and fact it is that you will soon be rid of your worries.
Go to God in prayer and you will find great consolation as we have all found consolation in our troubles and when on earth we had a great number resulting in the death of many of us. But we had faith and our faith and the love of the Master helped us over many rough places.

I merely want to add another to those who have told you that you will be relieved of these worries.
I will stop and say that I am
Your brother in Christ,
JOHN THE BAPTIST.
